Cassandra Overby grew up hiking and camping in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She started adventuring internationally in college, when study abroad programs in Germany and Austria got her firmly hooked on travel. Her adventures have taken her all over the world, from Central America to Southeast Asia, but she loves exploring Europe more than anywhere else.

Both hiking and traveling continue to shape her life—and her career. She’s a travel and outdoors writer by trade, regularly contributing active travel stories to magazines like Washington Trails and Northwest Travel and Life when she’s not working on developing her travel brand, Explore on Foot.

Much of what Cassandra does for work—exploring and writing—she also does for fun. But when she’s not on trail or in a foreign country, you can usually find her in her other happy place: a country bar, sporting well-loved leather cowboy boots and dancing to live music.

Unless, that is, she’s at home with her family. Cassandra and her favorite travel companion/husband, Mac, recently became parents for the first time. They love exploring Seattle with their baby and are currently planning their first kid-friendly international trip.
