Camping at Government Canyon Sate Park

Government Canyon State Park.jpeg

Our first overnight!! I can't tell you guys how excited I am for this, and quite frankly a bit scared. I've never camped without my dad or my husband. I get to have my first time with you guys!!!

I've booked a group camping site that will hold up to 16 people. My tent will sleep 8 of us easy enough. I know a few of you have camping gear as well, so once we know the headcount we'll all get together and work out those specifics.

I'll be supplying dinner, evening snack, and breakfast the next day. So if anyone has strict food restrictions let me know and we can discuss. I'll know what I'm making once I know the headcount.

We'll be hiking the trails at the park. I haven't been since the summer due to all of the rain so I'm VERY excited. Govt Canyon is one of my favorite places to hike because it's so close to town and you're so quickly out of the city. Please make sure you bring proper shoes and attire for hiking. Govt Canyon is rugged, so sneakers at the very least. I’d venture to say bring a head lamp as well, a midnight hike or a before dawn hike to catch the sunrise isn’t out of the list of possibilities!

I've even got us set up to have someone come in and do a fire making class for us that evening! Yes, I know, some of you know how to do this. I do not and others of us do not so we will all get to learn while you guys sit back with a drink.

Speaking of drink: BYOB, whatever your beverage preference please bring enough for the day/night and remember to calculate water for the hike as well.

RSVP will close on 4-15-2019 to allow me plenty of time to prepare.
