Toys for Foster kids

It’s that time of year again!

It’s time to get to shopping and do some good in the world.

We do this every year and it is seriously our more rewarding adventure.

A word from Leeanne…

“Many children are residing out of their natural home environment and are temporarily placed with relatives, friends, coaches, or other extended relations. Most are in homes with rather humble or fixed incomes. While it is a blessing for children to be placed in homes of caregivers with whom they have strong relationships, taking on the responsibilities of an additional child or sibling group can stretch the caregiver's budget. These temporary caregivers ensure that the children's basic needs are met, though are often unable to provide for special events, such as birthdays or holidays.

We at the Department of Child Safety believe that every child should be celebrated at the holidays. In the Central Region, there are more than 2,000 children in out-of-home care with family or other extended relations. These children have been through rough and devastating circumstances, and absolutely deserve to experience the joy of the holidays. Our holiday team will work without cease until we know that all of our children in the Central Region of DCS will have a gift to open on Christmas day. We appreciate any and all contributions that will help our children feel valued and remembered this Christmas.”

Items to buy: Clothes, personal care items (toothbrushes, deodorant), toys, books.

We will collect these unwrapped items on November 29th at 7pm at Southern Rail (300 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85013) in Central Phoenix.

It’s that easy. If you can’t make it on the 29th you can make arrangements with Jenny to drop off your items. There is a cash donation option and we will shop for you! Just paypal jenny (jenny@womenonadventures.com) and we’ll get items to Leeanne for you.
